Dr Janine Cumming (BVSc BSc)

Your Compassionate Home Euthanasia Vet

Hi, I'm Janine,  I live on a life style block in Canterbury with my family, and our various animal friends. During my down time I love to meet with friends and family, ride our horses and go for walks with our dogs.

I am a veterinarian with over 20 years in the industry. Fun fact...  I am also fully qualified in animal chiropractic and divide my professional time seeing dogs, cats and horses for chiropractic care and also being there for people like you, that need support and guidance during this difficult time.

We are here for you and your loved pet with a mobile euthanasia service that allows you to prioritise your pets comfort and well-being, ensuring a peaceful and dignified farewell in the comfort and familiar setting of your own home.

Together, we can ensure that your pet's final moments are filled with love, peace, and dignity.

Answers to Common Questions

Find answers to commonly asked questions about pet home euthanasia below.

Why choose Loved Pets At Home Pet Euthanasia over a traditional veterinary clinic?

At-home pet euthanasia offers a more peaceful and familiar environment for both the pet and the owner, allowing for a more personalised and compassionate experience.  It allows a stress-free environment, it is perfect for animals that suffer from anxiety with vet visits, or those that are no longer very mobile. It also means that we have the time to go at your pace unlike a traditional veterinary clinic, we are there for your pet, your family and yourself, and we go at the best pace for you.

How do I know when it's time to consider euthanasia for my pet?

Deciding to euthanise a pet is never easy, and it is not a one size fits all scenario and many factors come into consideration when answering this question. Our veterinarians can provide guidance and support to help you determine when it may be the right time to consider euthanasia for your pet. Please don't hesitate to get in touch to make a time for a no-obligation phone call to see how we can help you further and guide you through this process.

What can I expect during the at home euthanasia process?

Our veterinarians will ensure that the process is as gentle and peaceful as possible for both you and your loved pet. We go at your speed and we are there for your lovely family at this time, so you do not feel rushed. We will come in and meet you and your beloved friend, sign some documents and talk over the procedure further. Please feel free to contact us further to go over the process in more detail if you require.

Do you offer cremation services for my pet after euthanasia?

Yes, we can arrange for cremation services for your pet after euthanasia. We offer transportation at the time or can organise transportation after we have gone if you require further time.  We offer different options for pet cremation, including private cremation with ashes returned to you.

Is at home pet euthanasia available for all types of pets?

Our at-home pet euthanasia services are available for dogs, cats, and other small animals. Please contact us to enquire about euthanasia services for smaller pets.

How do I schedule an at-home pet euthanasia appointment?

To schedule an at-home pet euthanasia appointment, please contact our office by phone/text, Facebook messenger or email. Our compassionate team will work with you to find a convenient time for the appointment.

Can my whole family be present during the euthanasia process?

Yes, we encourage pet owners and as many people as you would like to be present during the euthanasia process to provide comfort and support for you and your loved pet. Some people prefer to be alone for this special time with their loved pets and other people like to have many family members present. Our veterinarians will ensure that you and your family feel supported throughout the entire process.
